Wedding cakes in the Tuscan traditions

Not so long ago, the cake – like the bride – was always dressed in white.
If you don’t want to brak with tradition you can offer your guest
a traditional wedding cake otherwise you can choose
among many other beautiful, simple or sophisticated proposal.

What could be, for example, more appropriate for a romantic
wedding than sexy, decadent chocolate cake? The look,
the small and the taste of chocolate make it one of the
most indulgent of food, so it’s not surprising that chocolate
cake have become such a popular choice for wedding.
If you are going to celebrate your wedding in summer,
a very funny and fresh idea is a big fruit cake which could
be round, flower , sun or heart shape.

As your wedding banquet draws to a close it is traditional
to finish off your Italian Feast as at all great weddings
with a wedding cake and in Italy this is no exception.
Italy is the home of all things sweet and especially cakes,
you only need to walk down any Italian high street
to see the number of Patisseries, and one glance in
the window will have your taste buds tingling
at the anticipation of such sweet delights.

The traditional fruit cake found at most weddings
in countries such as the UK are not normally available
here in Italy, however we can obtain them if you wish.
But you and your partner may wish to ‘go Italian’ and
treat you and your guests to a traditional Italian wedding cake.
The are several different types of cake used at weddings;
however the most popular and traditional is the mill folio,
a light creamy cake. The entrance of the cake is normally
spectacular with elaborate cake stands and accompanied by fireworks.
We will have you supplied with samples of the various options
available during your planning visit here to Tuscany
for you to taste for yourself, so you can make up your
own mind which ‘Italian delight’ to treat your guests too.
