Choose the Perfect Wedding Venue

Well, you have chosen Tuscany as the setting of your perfect day! But Tuscany is a wide region, with different, sometimes opposite, peculiarities, from the seaside to the mountains, from the big art cities known all over the world to the small picturesque villages hidden in the countryside or situated on breathtaking top hills.

In order to find the right place for you, you have to take into consideration a large number of details and try to understand what you are really looking for.   First of all you will see WHERE and there lots of questions which can help you in this choice:

• Is there an area in Tuscany you already know?

• Are you the kind of person who like tranquillity and silence or do you prefer the vitality of a big city?

• Do like art or music, or the seaside, or wine or mountains or else?

• Do you wish to offer your guests or to enjoy with your partner some particular excursions or a relax day in a thermal area or some interesting courses?

• Which period of the year are you thinking about?

The seaside, for example, is very romantic and calm in spring, while it is full of fun and people in July and August Florence and Siena are more or less, always crowded while in small little villages it is easy to find a silent and familiar atmosphere.
Some cities like for example Arezzo, Siena, Pistoia, Florence and Torre del Lago offer, in certain period of the year important music and theatre events, known all over the world....

• How many guests do you expect to have?

If you are thinking about a small group, you can choose to be in small town, far from hotels and from big locations. If you are thinking about 100 or more guests, it is better to go for a big city or a village quite close to. Your guests may decide last minute to come and join your wedding and in a big city it would be easier to find a room even a couple of days before.

• Do you wish a Civil or a Religious Wedding?

In Tuscany most municipalities give at disposal of the couples magnificent rooms and palazzos which are historical monuments. Otherwise for a Roman Catholic ceremony you can choose among many real jewel of art. Protestant Wedding can be celebrated everywhere while a Jewish Wedding takes place in Florence Synagogue and so on…

• Do you wish a Romantic and Elegant atmosphere?

Tuscany is full of castles and villas once belonging to the most important families in Italy like for example the "Medici". Such a location guarantees a very refined atmosphere and the echo of ancient times. Most of these locations have been completely restored with aim of maintaining the magic of history together with modern and sophisticated taste.

• Do you prefer an informal Wedding?

Your choice will be oriented towards a farmhouse with all comforts and eventually with the possibility of some activities. The reception could run on a rural theme and you will let your guests enjoy the unique landscape of Tuscany, among olive trees and vineyards.

• Do you have expect many children to come?

You have to choose a location where they can play and have fun without disturbing the general atmosphere.

• Do you wish the reception to take place where you and your guests are accommodated or do you prefer to welcome them in a villa different from the accommodation?

• Are you planning also a rehearsal dinner or a brunch for the day after your wedding?

In this case an opportunity could be to have them at your accommodation and the wedding reception in an other location, or to have them in a restaurant, in a thermal Spa or on the beach.
